About
The Duncan Lardeau is a broad valley bottom floodplain and delta on the north end of Kootenay Lake that supports rare and critical habitat for many species at risk and is used by nearly all local wildlife in this otherwise rugged, high elevation landscape. The valley also provides an important migratory stopover for waterfowl and shorebirds and serves as an important east-west corridor for wide-ranging mammals between the Purcell and Central Selkirk mountains.
