Slocan River Valley

About

Slocan River is an undammed river that extends from the outflow of Slocan Lake to its confluence with the Kootenay River. The Slocan River’s productive and biodiverse floodplain of riparian habitat and wetlands, as well as its many tributaries, support sensitive ecosystems and many species of concern. This watershed is a major corridor of life for macroinvertebrates and rainbow trout, western screen owls, mountain goats, and magnificent cedar trees characteristic of the globally unique Inland Temperate Rainforest.
