So much of what we do is about people working together.
We connect people to places, projects and partners. We showcase what people have done. We share stories, recognizing setbacks and wins, big and small. We value diverse perspectives and honour the unique role we each play as we work to conserve Kootenay ecosystems.
Every year we celebrate our outstanding partners through our Conservation Leadership Awards. Past recipients have shown leadership, innovation or dedication to conservation in the Kootenay region.

LOOKING AHEAD
As our partnership grows so does our collaborative spirit.
We are proud of our past and are committed to working together for the future, to address the ongoing biodiversity crisis and habitat loss our region –and the world– continues to face. We recognize that we work and live in the traditional, unceded territories of the Ktunaxa, Secwépemc, Sinixt and Syilx Okanagan and seek to continue to build meaningful relationships with Indigenous Nations, recognize and integrate Indigenous priorities for conservation, and respect the spirit and intent of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. >>> TBD Link to Indigenous Acknolwedgement
With the effects of climate change already underway in the Kootenays, many of our partners are actively working to help build greater ecological resilience across the region. Regardless of the challenges ahead, our role is to inspire and ignite cooperative action, using leading-edge science to find partner-led solutions.
