Our Mission:
We are a community of volunteers with a passion for wild, backcountry spaces; a natural setting where solitude demands effort as well as an appreciation for the space, fish, wildlife, and experience found within.
Our Vision:
To ensure North America’s outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing in a natural setting, through education and work on behalf of our wild public lands, waters, and wildlife.
The British Columbia Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers (BCBHA) is a member of the North American conservation organization Backcountry Hunters and Anglers (BHA). BCBHA is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization. The core of the BC Chapter is based out of the East Kootenays, but now has committees in every region of the province. We have an active, rapidly growing community of members (approx. 350 in the Kootenays, over 1000 province-wide) that participate in projects and “calls to action” to influence policy for the sake of clean water, fish and wildlife conservation, wild backcountry and supporting habitats.
