Kootenay Connect Manager – Marcy Mahr
Marcy’s lifelong passion for nature has shaped her career over the past 30 years and led her to work in amazing places all over Canada and the US. Since 2009, Marcy has been engaged with KCP in various capacities beginning with preparing conservation property evaluations for the Securement Committee and then serving as KCP’s Stewardship & Communications Manager co-leading KCP’s expansion to include both the East and West Kootenays. More recently, she has been KCP’s Stewardship Manager providing strategic support to KCP partners, Conservation Neighbourhoods, and Conservation Action Forums. She’s currently KCP’s Kootenay Connect Manager leading local and landscape-level initiatives with KCP partners to advance the conservation of biodiversity and ecological corridors in our region. Marcy has a M.Sc. in Plant Ecology and lives with her family on a small farm in the Slocan Valley.
