Description:
CWSP characterized wetlands into three groups based on their connectivity to the Columbia River as Most Connected, Partially Connected, and Least Connected. These wetlands differ hydrologically, particularly in their response to the Columbia River flood pulse, which is a major driving force of the Columbia Wetlands complex due to the undammed nature of this part of the river. This report describes the characterized wetlands, annual variability, proportion of each wetland type in the Columbia Valley, and the role of beaver dams, and beaver dam analogues, in creating and maintaining these wetlands.
