Founded in 2011, Arrow Lakes Environmental Stewardship Society (ALESS) is a grassroots non-profit based in the Arrow Lakes area. We lead projects such as a local Pollinator Park, the Beaver Restoration initiative at Box Lake, and ongoing water monitoring in lakes, streams, and wetlands to track ecosystem health. We also prioritize public education through workshops, school programs, and interpretative signage that highlight environmental issues and local history, including the longstanding stewardship of he Sinixt and other Indigenous peoples. Our collaborations with Indigenous communities, schools, and partner organizations strengthen stewardship values throughout the Columbia Basin.
