Heron breeding activity has continued to decline in the southern portion of the Columbia Basin, based on 2016-17 and 2020 monitoring results.
Report any Great Blue Heron nest sites, active breeding colonies, or large groups of herons feeding in areas throughout the Columbia River Basin to help monitor breeding and over-wintering populations and identify sites worthy of conservation or stewardship follow-up.
