Local Conservation Fund Manager – Kendal Benesh

After completing her B.Sc. in Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria, Kendal spent the following decade conducting biodiversity monitoring in Alberta’s boreal forest, coordinating research efforts that support the recovery of woodland caribou in Western Canada, and managing invasive species programming. Now based out of Nelson, she has worked for provincial and local organizations, and has overseen region-wide programs in the East Kootenay. As KCP’s Local Conservation Fund Manager, Kendal focuses on effective administration of the Columbia Valley and RDCK Local Conservation Funds, along with supporting the KCP team in facilitating conservation efforts on private land across the Kootenays.
