Our Mission:

To protect, enhance and promote the wise use of the environment for the benefit of present and future generations.

Our Vision:

CDWA is dedicated to the improvement of the outdoor experience for its members and the general public, promoting good sportsmanship, safety and ethics, and acting as the voice of the community on policy and management issues concerning our natural resources. CDWA endorses and encourages policies and management techniques that will ensure a harvestable surplus of fish and wildlife for the benefit of present and future generations.

The Castlegar & District Wildlife Association (CDWA) is located at the juncture of the Columbia and Kootenay Rivers in the heart of the West Kootenay. The CDWA was incorporated under the BC Societies Act on June 18, 1962 and is an affiliated member of both the BC Wildlife Federation (BCWF) and the West Kootenay Outdoorsmen (WKO).

CDWA boasts a current membership of some 250 individuals and families, comprising hunters, anglers, recreational shooters and others who are committed to the conservation and prudent management of the region’s abundant fish, wildlife, and natural habitats.
