Interim Program Director – Kendal Benesh

After completing her B.Sc. in Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria, Kendal spent the following decade conducting biodiversity monitoring in Alberta’s boreal forest, coordinating research efforts that support the recovery of woodland caribou in Western Canada, and managing invasive species programming in SE BC. Now based out of Nelson, she has worked for provincial and local organizations, and has overseen region-wide programs in the East Kootenay. As KCP’s Interim Program Director, Kendal’s role is to support the KCP partnership and its many conservation initiatives in the region, with a focus on effective administration of the Columbia Valley and RDCK Local Conservation Funds. Kendal also holds a Master’s of Educational Technology (MET) from the University of British Columbia, and has a special interest in connecting people with knowledge through technology-mediated learning environments.
